In lieu of our annual Lawyers' Impact Fund Campaign, the Mecklenburg Bar Foundation has established the COVID-19 Relief Fund to help those affected by the impact of the Coronavirus in Mecklenburg County. The COVID-19 Relief Fund will address the immediate and longer-term needs of Mecklenburg County’s most vulnerable residents who have been impacted by the Coronavirus. Government officials and businesses have taken sweeping measures to halt the spread of the virus by closing schools, delaying travel, cancelling events and having people work remotely. These challenges have disrupted our lives physically, socially and economically. We are concerned about community health, and the potential for working families to face economic hardship and food insecurity in the months ahead.

The Mecklenburg Bar Foundation has kicked off the spring fundraiser to support grants to the following organizations:

$3,750 - Psychology for All: To support the Breaking Down Barriers program, which provides virtual mental health counseling for qualified adults who are suffering from the psychological effects of COVID-19

$7,500 - Still Hope Enrichment Agency: To provide emergency assistance to at-risk youth and their families through
rental, housing, utility and food assistance and online tutoring during the COVID-19 pandemic.

$12,500 - Metrolina Association for the Blind: To provide one-on-one virtual training for visually impaired adults
and children who are working and learning in a virtual environment during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We need your help now, more than ever, to help serve those who need us most. To help meet urgent needs, please consider making your gift today so that we can provide support to these agencies as soon as possible.
