Immigration & Nationality Section


Provides opportunities for attorneys practicing immigration law to meet with colleagues to discuss the issues they face in everyday practice. Collaborates with other practice sections to educate attorneys on immigration issues in different areas of practice. Participates in Citizenship Workshops throughout the year, held in conjunction with International House and the Latin American Coalition.

2019-20 Immigration SECTION REPORT

During the 2019-20-year, leadership of the Immigration section offered a variety of educational, social, and networking opportunities to assist with section member’s professional development aspirations.

Section members met monthly for lunch, to discuss legalities, career triumphs and difficulties, which built a strong camaraderie amongst the section members.

In November, members of the Immigration and the Family Law sections co-hosted a networking event at Legion Brewing. The section leadership, Catherine Magennis and Colleen Molner, in conjunction with Doug Thie, presented “Immigration Law 101“for the Annual Review CLE in February 2020.

Through the efforts of the leadership and its member’s support, membership increased during the year.
