The Mecklenburg Bar Association's Charlotte Legal Clerkship Program (CLCP) attracts high-performing, first-year law students for a 10-week summer clerkship position with a law firm and corporate legal department in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Mecklenburg Bar Association (MBA) seeks to eliminate biases, barriers and prejudices within the legal profession by creating and promoting environments that treat all individuals with respect and dignity. Diversity is an inclusive concept and encompasses, without limitation, age, race, color, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, nationality, disability, socioeconomic status, veteran status, first generation university graduate or law school attendee, and marital and parental status. We acknowledge that the varied perspectives and backgrounds of our members are central to the MBA’s success as an organization and are valuable to the public we serve.
To date, the Clerkship program has hosted almost 200 students from law schools from around the country. The program has a strong Charlotte alumni base and continues to grow each year by clerks either returning for 2L summer employment opportunities or as full-time attorneys.
