Tax Section


 

Offers educational programs on federal and local tax issues, including presentations by leading practitioners and key government officials in the field.  Hosts roundtable discussions to provide networking and social opportunities while engaging in thoughtful conversation regarding current tax law issues.

2018-19 Tax Section Report

In early September 2018, the Tax Section held a business meeting to outline activities for the upcoming year.

On November 16, 2018, the section presented the Continuing Legal Education program “Just Passing Through: Maximizing the Deduction for “Qualified Business Income” Under the Internal Revenue Code Section 199A”.

On February 8, 2019, as part of the MCB 2019 Annual Review, the section presented the Continuing Legal Education program: How to Go about Providing Information to the IRS”

In December 2018, the section contributed $500.00 towards MCB’s annual Holiday party. In early April, 2019, the group  enjoyed an evening of baseball at the Charlotte Knights stadium.

Throughout the year, section leadership ensured members stayed up to date on relevant information and changes with regular section-wide communications.

Section leaders look forward to the upcoming year, including social opportunities and increased CLE programming.  Any ideas or suggestions for future events or CLE’s may be submitted to sections@meckbar.org.
