50 Years of Justice
The Mecklenburg County Bar and Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy (formerly Legal Services of Southern Piedmont) invite you to join us for the 50 Years of Justice event on March 8, 2018. 50 Years of Justice celebrates the impact Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy and the members of the Mecklenburg County Bar have made on the Charlotte region over the last half century.
All of the issues Charlotte faces today are rooted in its past. While the city of Charlotte has grown into a beacon of economic prosperity in the New South, issues of equality, economic mobility and opportunity remain. Since 1967, Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy and members of the MCB have been there, fighting the systemic causes of poverty and barriers to economic mobility in efforts to build a more just community for all.
In addition to the program, we will also recognize the career of Ted Fillette and the significant contributions he has made to our community as the long-time assistant director and senior managing attorney at Legal Aid of North Carolina-Charlotte.
Join us in celebrating the successes of the past as we look ahead to the work that still remains in ensuring justice for all in Mecklenburg County.
