The Rules of Civil Procedure related to depositions, standard stipulations, relevancy, 30 (b)(6) depositions and records custodians
10:00 am - 11:00 am: Taking Depositions 101
We will discuss and walk through a typical discovery deposition, including goals of depositions, constructing and following a case-specific deposition outline, expert depositions, handling the various personalities during the deposition, the preservation of the record and handling the unexpected
11:00 am - 12:00 pm: Lessons Learned - Are You the Lawyer You Wanted to Be?
This ethics portion will cover a series of articles published about one lawyer's experiences of practicing law over the last ten years, providing insight into his own practice but also into his interactions with others in the legal community. These articles do not advance any particular method of practicing law, but do provide one lawyer's point of view on how attorneys can "get more" out of their individual practices.
