The 8 Hours of CLE Programming Will Include:

Civil, commercial, constitutional, criminal, environmental, family, intellectual property, juvenile practices as well as ethics & professionalism topics.


To meet the US Treasury Department's legal requirements that we have a "full work schedule", preliminary plans include:


·         Briefing on US- Cuban relations at the US Interests Section

·         Briefing at the National Union of Cuban Jurists

·         Informal meeting with Cuban lawyers from different specialties

·         Meeting with lawyers from the Bufete Colectivo to learn how they are structured and function

·         Meeting with the National Society of Constitutional Law

·         Meeting with representatives from the National Assembly to discuss the legal system and proposed reforms

·         Observing a trial

·         Meeting with the Cuban Women's Federation to discuss gender and family issues

·         Touring the University of Havana School of Law and meeting with students and professors



 A Briefing Book containing the Course Outline will provide an overview of the Cuban Legal System, together with background information

A non-refundable $200 deposit due with completed application form and resume on or before July 20th via certified checks, money orders, or credit cards.  Final payment is due no later than August 20th.


Cancellation insurance may be arranged directly with insurance companies such as TravelEx or TravelGuard.


Not Included:

Roundtrip air travel from Charlotte to Miami, meals other than breakfast, sightseeing tour admissions, tips, Cuban departure tax


A mandatory orientation meeting of all participants will be held at the Bar Center in advance of our departure.

$439 per person (estimated based on the fares in April; we will not know September fares until June)

Airfare includes U.S. departure tax and Cuban medical insurance during your stay in Cuba
