To oversee the ABA-approved program that provides those who can afford to pay an established reasonable fee to a referred lawyer who shall provide a consultation.

2014-15 Lawyer Referral Service (LRS) Committee Report

LRS Panel Membership hit an all-time high in 2014-15 with over 100 attorneys joining the service.  The LRS Committee focused its efforts on marketing the service and collecting commissions from attorneys in the service.  LRS staff welcomed Charlotte School of Law interns, who assisted in administrative functions and helped staff the phones, gaining the invaluable experience of interacting with clients directly. 



2014-15 Highlights

·      The LRS reached 107% of its goal for commissions and 144% of its goal for panel dues.

·      LRS Panel Members earned nearly $250,000.00 in attorneys fees from LRS referrals.

·      The LRS Panel Member of the Year was awarded to Sheila G. Passenant for her loyalty to the LRS, willingness to go the extra mile for the LRS, availability to LRS staff and clients, advocacy for the program, submitting commissions in a timely manner and willingness to mentor new LRS Panel Members
