Real Property Section
Meets quarterly to discuss issues regarding real estate, housing, and land use practitioners. Plans educational programs to further the knowledge of Section members in their practice. Provides information to Section and MCB members on legislative, finance, zoning, land-use laws, legal opinions, and landlord-tenant relations.

2019-20 Real Property Section Report

During the 2019-20-year, leadership of the Real Property section offered members educational, social, and networking events that afforded members professional development opportunities. Throughout the year, section leaders kept members informed of evolving changes in laws relating to real estate transactions.
The section’s Annual Business Meeting was held in September at the Mecklenburg County Bar center. During the meeting, goals and initiatives set forth by section leadership were presented to membership. In November, section members gathered at Olde Mecklenburg Brewing for an evening of networking. Members of the Real Property and the Business Law Sections came together for an evening of networking, appetizers, and cocktails at the elite Charlotte City Club, in mid-December. The section also co-hosted the MCB Holiday party.
During the outbreak of SARS-CoV-2, leadership kept section members informed of the changes in laws relating to real estate transactions by hosting virtual networking and educational events. Social events were cancelled.
Membership increased throughout the year due to the efforts of leadership and the support of section members.
