2019-20 Criminal Justice Section Report
Charles L. Morgan Jr., Chair and Jefferson A. Moors, Vice Chair
During the 2019-20-year, leadership of the Criminal Justice section offered educational, social, and networking opportunities to aid section members with their professional development objectives. Throughout the year, section leaders kept members informed of evolving changes in laws related to criminal justice.
The sections annual business meeting was held in early September. Leadership presented the financial reports, goals, and initiatives for the year. At the end of September, the section hosted a well-attended “Poolside Party” where attendees enjoyed an evening of networking, cool beverages, and tasty appetizers. In October, section leadership presented “Criminal Law & Its Intersection with Immigration Today”, during the “The Dream CLE”, a program presented to MCB members on a complimentary basis. In December, the section co-hosted the Mecklenburg County Bar’s Holiday party.
The section also presented the webinars “I can’t Read all of This! Discovery Management Techniques in the New Digital Age and” A Beginner's Guide to the Legal Side of Chemical Analysis: DWI, DUI and Drug Analyses Cases”.
The leadership of the Criminal Justice section is always exploring ways to enhance the membership experience. Please submit any ideas to email@example.com.
