Corporate Counsel Section


Hosts seminars, roundtable meetings and programs focused on problems of common interest, including corporation and antitrust law, attorney-client privilege, governmental regulation, law department administration and relations with outside counsel.

Membership is limited to MCB members employed full-time or part-time exclusively for a corporation, business association, partnership or governmental entity, and who are not employed by or associated with a private law firm.

2020-21 Corporate Counsel SECTION REPORT

During these unprecedented times, Section leadership continued to offer section members various educational and networking opportunities to keeps members connected and informed during this unique and challenging year.

The section’s annual business meeting was held on August 6, 2020, during which, the chairs recognized outgoing section leadership, met other section members, and reviewed the agenda and financial health of the section for the upcoming year. Section members also had the opportunity to make recommendations for section activities.

During the year, the section offered it’s members 1.00 General CLE hours, with the presentation of "Out of Triage Mode and Into the New Normal: Training and Compliance in the Remote Work Environment" and 1.00 General “Complimentary” hours with the presentation of “Insurance Basics for in-House Counsel, presented on April 21, 2021.

The section also co-sponsored QPR: Suicide Prevention Training, a Bar Wide CLE, which offered 2.00 Substance Abuse / Mental Health CLE hours and complimentary admission for a limited number of MCB members. 

The Corporate Counsel Section also hosted multiple virtual networking events which granted members the opportunity to network and focus on matters of common interest.

As a “thank you”, section members received a Starbucks gift card. The section also made a generous contribution towards the MBF Covid-19 Relief Fund.

Notwithstanding the challenges of Covid-19, section membership and participation increased during the year.
