2019 Charlotte Legal Diversity Clerkship Application

All diverse first-year law students (expected to graduate Spring 2021) who advance the value of diversity in the Charlotte legal market are encouraged to apply for the Charlotte Legal Diversity Clerkship.

Application Materials

Eligible candidates must submit the following application materials by January 25, 2019:

  • Cover Letter (please address cover letter to the CLDC Selection Committee) 
  • Resume
  • A writing sample from applicant's first-semester of law school. 
  • Copy of college and first semester law school transcripts (unofficial copies are acceptable)*
  • A brief statement (1-2 pages) explaining how the applicant would contribute to creating a more diverse legal community in Charlotte, and why the applicant would like to practice law in Charlotte.

*If first semester law school grades are not available by the application deadline of January 25, 2019, applicants should submit any available grades with their application and must submit additional grades as available.

Interview Process

Those who are invited to interview will be notified approximately one week after the application deadline. 

Interviews will be held in Charlotte on February 6-7, 2019. A candidate reception will be held on February 6, 2019 and will serve as an opportunity to meet CLDC employers and alumni.
