Please describe why you would be the best candidate for the open judicial position (not to exceed 150 words): From the boardroom to the classroom to the courtroom, I have had rich experiences in business, teaching, and the law. Working as a media planner for Young and Rubicam taught me the importance of balancing client demands with market realities. I fostered interest in the law and government during my ten years as a social studies teacher. For the past six years I have worked as a Public Defender in Mecklenburg County. I work in both District and Superior Courts and I have handled hundreds of cases from traffic offenses to serious felonies. I have maintained relationships with the Court and my fellow attorneys based on integrity, fairness, and respect. These diverse life experiences have given me a broad perspective beyond the courtroom walls. It is precisely these experiences that make me a qualified judicial candidate who would seek justice in family court, juvenile court, civil court or criminal court.
