MCB Lawyers' Basketball League Rules & Regulations

Eligibility (see MCB Lawyers' Basketball League Rules & Regulations for full eligibilty requirements)

Attorneys who are current members of the Mecklenburg County Bar are eligible to participate in the MCB Lawyers' Basketball League. Non-attorney office staff, paralegals or employees of legal organizations/firms in Mecklenburg County are not eligible to participate. Spouses and friends of attorneys are not eligible.

Lawyers who are not members of the Mecklenburg County Bar may play in the league provided they are either maintaining an office in Mecklenburg County or playing for a team sponsored by a law firm with a Mecklenburg County office.

Current law students at the Charlotte School of Law are eligible to participate in the MCB Lawyers' Basketball League upon a first come - first serve space available basis and qualifying under one of the following criteria:

• Charlotte School of Law students may create up to, but no greater than, two teams comprised of current law students. 
• CSL students may receive approval from the Commissioners to play upon any other team. Up to but not exceeding 3 CSL student players may be allowed per team. Students must receive permission from the Commissioners in advance of registering.  

Special circumstances regarding eligibility are subject to review by the Commissioners on a case-by-case basis.

Location/Scheduling

All games will be played at the Harris YMCA, located at 5900 Quail Hollow Road  Charlotte, NC 28210.  The schedule will be finalized after the February 15 registration deadline. Games will be played on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7 p.m. - 8 p.m.; 8 p.m. - 9 p.m.; 9 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Cost

Basketball fees are $650/team.  All team fees must be paid prior to teams being placed on the schedule.  The team captain will be responsible for collecting their team's fee.
