Linking Lawyers - A Mentoring Initiative



The Mecklenburg County Bar (MCB) Linking Lawyers program is seeking mentors and mentees for the 2013-14 year. Paired mentors and mentees will gather for the annual kickoff in late fall.


Founded in October 2010, Linking Lawyers offers a flexible avenue through which a range of attorneys may meet and discuss their career regardless of their stage in the legal profession.Linking Lawyers is designed to be a resource for networking and guidance on issues of professional conduct and career perspective, as well as to provide an introduction into diverse areas of the law through mentorship.


This program is not designed to be a recruitment, internship or job placement service. The program is an endeavor of the MCB's Professionalism, Lawyer Life and Culture Committee and operates under the supervision of its co-chairs, Hon. Charles "Casey" M. Viser and David M. Bishop.

We encourage you to take a moment to complete the Linking Lawyers Mentee Interest Form online.  You will be matched with a mentor based on the preferences you select. In order to ensure an experience that is most beneficial for both you and your mentor, please be candid in detailing what you expect from your mentoring experience and the amount of time that you are prepared to devote to this program.


Interested in BEING a mentor?

An ideal mentor will have been in practice for at least 5 years.  As a mentor you may provide your assigned mentee with an opportunity to acquire professional values, practical skills and judgment necessary to practice law with integrity and in a competent manner.We encourage you to take a moment to complete the Linking Lawyers Mentor Interest Form online.
