Help a family in need this Thanksgiving!

Many families in Mecklenburg County need a little extra help this holiday season.  In an effort to help those in need, the MCB Young Lawyers Division (YLD) is working in conjunction with Thompson Child and Family Focus (TCFF) to provide Thanksgiving meals to families in need.

TCFF is a non-profit organization that provides educational services to families and children who face a range of challenges, from abuse and neglect to those who simply lack the means or tools to provide quality care and education.  Learn more about this wonderful organization at http://www.thompsoncff.org/.

 Thanksgiving Meal

You can make a difference in a struggling family's Thanksgiving.  Law firms and individuals can sponsor a family (or families!) by providing the ingredients for a home-cooked Thanksgiving dinner.  A typical sponsorship costs between $75 - $125 (depending on family size).  Times are tight, and if you cannot afford to sponsor an entire family, smaller donations may be pooled to sponsor a family or used to purchase necessities such as roasting pans, etc.

Meal guidelines will be forwarded to sponsors, and generally include a protein, starch, vegetables and supplies. Meals must be delivered between 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. on either Mon., Nov. 19 or Tues. Nov. 20, depending on the family's involvement with TCFF.  If you want to help but have a conflict, sponsors can elect to provide funds for a MCB/YLD Community Service Committee member to purchase the dinner and deliver it to TCFF.
