Celebration of Community Service
In honor of the Bar's Centennial anniversary, April will be a Celebration of Community Service. A wide menu of volunteer opportunities has already been developed and we will also coordinate with firms, or non-profit organizations served by attorneys, with existing volunteer projects or interested in developing a project.

MCB Centennial Celebration
In January 2012, the Bar will begin commemorating our Centennial anniversary and celebrate the remarkable journey that has transformed the Mecklenburg County Bar from one lone lawyer in a colonial town to a community of 4,400+ professional members.

Seeking Linking Lawyers Mentors and Mentees!
The MCB mentoring program Linking Lawyers is seeking volunteer mentors and mentees to participate in its 2011-2012 class. Linking Lawyers is designed to be a resource for networking and guidance on issues of professional conduct and career perspective, as well as to provide an introduction into diverse areas of the law. 2012 McMillan Fellowship Applications
Deadline for joint applications for this summer program for law students who desire work experience with not-for-profit or government agencies is 5 p.m. on 3-1-12.

Proposed Amendments from Western District of NC
The United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina has proposed amendments to its local rules. The proposed amended rules and a synopsis of the amendments may be found on the court's web site at http://www.ncwd.uscourts.gov/. The Rules will be effective January 1, 2012.

Memorial Resolutions
The MCB Memorials Committee coordinates memorial services in open court for deceased members of the MCB. During each service, a memorial resolution is read by a family member, friend or colleague.
