Accepting Nominations for Board of Directors


In accordance with Article XII, Section 12.2(b) of the MBF bylaws, interested members of the Mecklenburg County Bar are encouraged to submit their names or the names of other active members of the Bar for consideration as nominees for various offices and board of directors’ seats for the MBF fiscal year beginning January 1, 2016.  


Names should be submitted no later May 31, 2015 to Nominating Committee Chair Dianne C. Bailey at; MBF Executive Director Nancy M. Roberson at; any member of the MBF Nominating Committee; or mailed to Nominating Committee, c/o MBF, 2850 Zebulon Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28208.


The Nominating Committee will meet on June 9, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. at the Bar & Foundation Center at 2850 Zebulon Avenue to consider all nominees, and a proposed slate of officers for 2016 submitted by MBF Incoming President Aretha V. Blake. Additional nominations may also be made from the floor.


The slate of recommended officers and class of 2018 will be presented to the MBF Board of Directors at the August 25, 2015 meeting for election.


The Committee shall approve nominations to serve in the following offices for the 2015


  • Vice President (one-year term)
  • Secretary (one-year term)
  • Treasurer (one-year term)
  • Board of Directors (six seats for Class of 2018, three-year term)
