Add to the MCB Historical Collection

The Mecklenburg County Bar is busy preparing for our Centennial Celebration in 2012. The Bar History Committee, chaired by Mark Bernstein and Ray Farris, and the Centennial Celebration Subcommittee, chaired by Shirley Fulton and Mark Merritt, have several projects underway -  including the publication of the History of the Mecklenburg County Bar, Centennial Celebration(s), a museum exhibition of the history of the MCB, a 2012 pictorial Membership Directory (schedule your portrait) and....a historical archive.

The Bar Center's basement is home to boxes of historical documents detailing the workings, events and members of the Bar for the past 100 years. To ensure these precious items are organized and protected, we have contracted a local archivist to evaluate and safely store all of our files, documents and pictures.

If you have photos, documents or MCB items-of-interest, please consider donating these items to the MCB for safe-keeping. Our new archive will be organized and accessible - and you can rest assured that your contributions will be safeguarded along with the rest of the collection. Please pass along this information to retired MCB members and the family of members of the Bar who have passed away.

If you have any questions, or would like to discuss donating items to the MCB historical collection, please contact Rhea Kelley at 704/375-8624 ext.108 or rkelley@meckbar.org.
