In association with the Mecklenburg County Bar, Consolidated Planning Inc. is pleased to announce a valuable new benefit to Bar members.

Individual, own-occupation disability insurance is available to all members at a 10% discount.

Why is this program available to you?

To make it easier for you to replace income in the event an injury or illness prevents you from working.

Features of the Mecklenburg County Bar Disability Income Insurance Program:

·         It will pay you in the event that you are totally disabled in your own occupation - even if you are working in some other capacity

·         This coverage is non-cancellable and guaranteed renewable to age 65 or 67

·         Benefits are payable in addition to benefits from all other coverage

·         There are also several optional benefits that may be available at an additional cost (contact us

for more information)

What are the cost and insurance benefit considerations?

Premium rates and specific benefits are based on your age, occupation, factors including evidence of

insurability and the amount of coverage for which you apply. A policy can be designed to fit your

personal needs.

If I am a new attorney with no established income, do I qualify for this benefit?

Yes, within a year after graduation from law school new attorneys automatically qualify for up to $3,000

of monthly income benefits regardless of current earnings.

Are all Mecklenburg County Bar members and staff eligible for this discount?

Yes! Through special arrangement with the insurance company, members and their staff are guaranteed

a permanent 10% discount.

How and when can I apply?

You may apply right now. And, as a Mecklenburg County Bar Member you may apply for this coverage
