Progress Update - 3/29/11

Since July 1, 2010, the Future Bar/Foundation Center Committee has continued its work to identify a new Bar/Foundation Center facility and to sell the existing property (Queens Road and Luther Street).  The existing property has been put on the market, and there have been several inquiries about the property.  The commercial real estate market conditions have not been ideal for a sale of the existing property.  The committee has hoped to coordinate a sale of the existing property with acquisition of new property.  The committee continues to receive contacts from brokers and owners about property for sale, and we have evaluated around 10 sites since July 1, 2010.  The Bar/Foundation has retained Gantt Huberman Architects to update the space needs study which that firm prepared about four years ago, and to advise on new construction or rehabilitation at such time as a new site has been located.  The committee is considering listing our current property with a broker.
