2011-12 Report

The Finance Committee met periodically throughout the year to review the latest financial information and projections concerning the Bar's income and expenses, and to consider a proposed budget for the 2012-13 fiscal year.  Working in conjunction with Executive Director Nancy M. Roberson and Director of Finance and Human Resources Sally Robinson, the Committee provided financial oversight to primarily ensure that spending in each category remained in line with budgeted expectations.  The Committee also provided guidance concerning likely budgetary impact of certain proposals.

The overall financial condition of the Bar remains solid despite the difficult economic climate, with income and expenditures generally meeting expectations during this past fiscal year.  In April, the Finance Committee reviewed and recommended approval of the annual budget for FY 2013, which begins on July 1, 2012.

The members of the Finance Committee provide a valuable service by donating their time to ensure good stewardship of the member's dues, and we especially salute the efforts of Committee members Brian D. Barger, J. Cameron Furr Jr. and Robert E. Harrington, who are rolling off the Committee this year.
