MCB Young Lawyers Division
2014 Thanksgiving Community Service Project

Many families in Mecklenburg County need a little extra help this holiday season.  In an effort to help those in need, the MCB Young Lawyers Division (YLD) is working in conjunction with Thompson Child and Family Focus (TCFF) to provide Thanksgiving meals to families in need.

TCFF is a non-profit organization that provides educational services to families and children who face a range of challenges, from abuse and neglect to those who simply lack the means or tools to provide quality care and education.  Learn more about this wonderful organization at www.thompsoncff.org.

 Thanksgiving Meal

You can make a difference in a struggling family's Thanksgiving.  Law firms and individuals can sponsor a family (or families!) by providing the ingredients for a home-cooked Thanksgiving dinner.  A typical sponsorship costs between $75 - $125 (depending on family size).

Meals must be picked up Wed., Nov. 19. Gift cards to Wal-Mart or Food Lion can be purchased in place of a meal. ($8 - $10 per family member should be adequate) Additionally, a small gift card for family‚Äôs to purchase perishable items such as milk, eggs, and butter is greatly appreciated. Aluminum roasting pans, baking pans, and foil are a need for most families to be able to prepare their meals.

To sponsor a family, or for further information, please e-mail YLDcommunityservice@meckbar.org
