Courthouse Access Cards

Available to MCB Members

Fees:

·         An initial (non-refundable) fee of $40.00 will be charged for the Access Card. 

·         A $20.00 annual (non-refundable) fee will be charged to maintain the Access Card.  The annual maintenance fee will not be pro-rated, and will be assessed each fiscal year (July 1 - June 30) after the fiscal year in which the initial Card fee was paid.

New Application:

·         Apply for an Access Card by downloading, completing and signing the application with payment by US mail to the Mecklenburg County Bar at 438 Queens Road, Charlotte, NC 28207.  Please make out your check of $40.00 to the Mecklenburg County Bar.

·         The Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office will create and issue the Access Cards at the Courthouse on Fridays between 9:00 and 11:00 in the morning and 1:00 and 3:00 in the afternoon.

Renew your Access Card

·         If you currently have a Courthouse Access Card, you may avoid the rush and renew it beginning May 15, 2010.  Please send your $20.00 renewal fee to: Jill Wiggins, 438 Queens Road, Charlotte, NC 28207 or pay online here 

·         You may also renew at the Bar Center and receive your sticker at that time.

·         Once the renewal fee is received, you will be mailed a new sticker to apply to your card which will be good until June 30, 2011.
