MCB YLD - Making the Holidays a Little Brighter
The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program

The MCB YLD is working with The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program to provide gifts to children in our community.  This is an excellent opportunity to make the holidays brighter for children who come from low-income families and/or live in foster care or group homes.

If you or your firm are interested in buying gifts for children in our community, please e-mail Stacey Vandiford at  staceyvandiford@mvalaw.com  by Friday, December 6 with the following information:
     1) How many "Angels" you would like to "adopt"
     2) A contact name
     3) The e-mail address to deliver your "Angel" wish list(s)

You will be provided an "Angel" tag that indicates the child's clothing size and his/her wish list -- making shopping a breeze!  The Salvation Army encourages sponsors to buy appropriate gifts at prices they feel comfortable spending. As a rule of thumb, gifts typically average $50 to $150 per "angel". If you plan to spend more than this amount, please consider adopting more than one "angel" so that we can brighten the holidays for as many children as possible.

Gifts should be dropped off at one of the Salvation Army drop-off locations listed here by Monday, December 9.  If you have any questions, please contact Stacey Vandiford at staceyvandiford@mvalaw.com or 704/331-3656 or Debra Lofano at 704/444-1094.

Please consider participating in this very worthy cause, which is sure to get your holidays off to a wonderful start!

In conjunction with the YLD's Angel Tree Project to benefit the Salvation Army, the YLD Legal Assistance Committee will be holding a small legal clinic at the Salvation Army's Center for Hope on December 16, 2013 from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

The Center for Hope provides shelter to women and children in our community.  Volunteers will be made available at the Center for Hope to answer general legal questions and provide guidance to the shelter's residents.  The Committee would like to have a large number of volunteers to ensure all residents will be afforded ample time to address their concerns.  If you would like to volunteer, please contact Jeremy Sugg at jsugg@hedrickgardner.com.
