Legal Clinic: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. 

Individuals may ask experienced lawyers questions regarding civil (landlord/tenant and small claims), criminal (misdemeanor), employment (unemployment and worker's compensation), and family (child support and custody) law on a first come first served basis.  

 

Know Your Courts Town Hall: 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.

Judges and key court officials will discuss their roles in the court and answer general questions about the judicial system.

 

Know Your Rights Panel:  2 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Defense attorneys, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department representatives and youth advocates will discuss civilian rights during police encounters, citywide curfew matters and answer topic-related questions from the community.  

 

 Justice Initiatives, the Mecklenburg County Bar, Mecklenburg County Bar's Young Lawyers Division, John S. Leary Bar of Black Attorneys, Charlotte School of Law and the Hidden Valley Community Association have been working together to provide the community a day of service.
