12:15 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.
Bar & Foundation Center

Your Bar invites you to join your colleagues at a regular monthly lunch meeting to eat, socialize and hear a high-impact presentation on “Getting Lost in Our Own Lives.” The luncheon offers attendees an optional 1 hour of CLE (Mental Health/Substance Abuse). The presentation, focusing on the legal profession and self care, will provide insight into how to handle stress & build resilience. It will cover attorneys’ mental health during different career stages and trajectories, and how much the typical attorney workload comes into play. In addition, this presentation will provide goals and resources on how to balance attorneys’ competitive nature & drive to succeed with the need to relax.

Debbie Steele will present on behalf of the Lawyers Assistance Program. She graduated with highest honors from the University of Tennessee with a BA in economics.  She earned her law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and was admitted to the NC Bar in 1989.  She  practiced with two small firms in Charlotte, focusing on civil litigation and bankruptcy.  She has also been an instructor with Central Piedmont
