MCB November Lawyers Luncheon

Limited number of walk-ins will be accepted today.

Your Bar invites you to join your colleagues at a regular monthly lunch meeting to eat, socialize and hear remarks from various speakers. These luncheons are held at First Presbyterian Church (200 W. Trade Street) from 12:15-1:15 p.m. (doors open at 12 p.m.) The cost is $10 per person.

Featuring Carl Scheer, Charlotte Bobcats Senior Advisor for Community Relations

"If there has been a motif to professional basketball in Charlotte,

it's been Carl Scheer," Steve Goldberg.

With over 40 years of sports administration and operation experience, Carl Scheer will join the MCB for the November Lawyers Luncheon Series. Currently the Senior Advisor for Community Relations for the Bobcats, he will share about legal representation, legal implications and contemporary issues faced by sports teams.

Familiar to many Charlotte business leaders, Scheer's resume includes time with the Cougars, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, Charlotte Hornets, and his current position with the Bobcats. He is also credited with creating the slam-dunk content in 1976 at the American Basketball Association's all-star weekend.

Just prior to accepting his role with the Bobcats, Scheer served as a consultant to minor-league hockey team Charlotte Checkers and the New Orleans Hornets in the NBA. His consulting firm led the development of the Bi-Lo Center in Greeneville, S.C. in 1998.

"I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to be here when basketball was introduced on the professional level and to see it sustain itself through difficult times, through peaks and valleys. Now in the twilight of my career, Michael Jordan is my boss and it could not have worked out any better for me," Scheer said.
