Your Bar invites you to join your colleagues at a regular monthly lunch meeting to eat, socialize and hear Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Rodney Monroe speak on police-community relations and address "perception vs. reality" as it relates to law enforcement.

Chief Rodney Monroe has more than 30 years of experience in law enforcement and was appointed chief of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) in 2008. In this role, he leads the largest municipal police department in the state of North Carolina. Under his leadership, the department has refocused its efforts on crime fighting and crime prevention through a more accountable organizational structure, new technology and an enhanced strategy of community policing. As a result, the department continues to experience a significant reduction in its crime rate.

Chief Monroe will share from his vast experience and provide information relevant to attorneys and their interactions with police. Prior to joining the CMPD, Chief Monroe served as chief in Macon, Georgia and in Richmond, Virginia. He holds  bachelor’s degrees in Interdisciplinary Studies and Criminal Justice, and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the National Executive Institute.

Please join us for this month’s luncheon, which will be held from 12:15 - 1:15 p.m. (doors open at 12 p.m. for registration) at the Bar & Foundation Center. The cost is $10 per person.

The MCB Social & Networking Committee welcomes your suggestions for speakers and programs to offer in the future.
