The annual Law & Society lectures were created by the Mecklenburg Bar Foundation in 1987 as a way of educating the entire community on the role of law in a democratic society and, through that, of creating a sense of community between the Bar and the citizenry.  It has become a tradition for members of the Bar to bring clients and friends as guests to this event.

The Luncheon also gives lawyers an opportunity to enjoy good fellowship and an inspiring message, and to support the good work of the Mecklenburg Bar Foundation. Net proceeds from the Luncheon benefit the Bar Foundation Fund to support grants to local nonprofits with a legal nexus in our community.
