Program & Speaker:

This course will review trends in the legal profession over the past several decades, and, in light of these trends, address what individual lawyers, law firms, and bar organizations can do to maximize professional fulfillment in the Twenty First Century practice.  Topics to be addressed include relevant polls, surveys, studies, and scholarship; the central importance of establishing and maintaining uncompromised ethics, clear priorities, and work-life balance; healthy lifestyle practices; money matters; practice management; the wise use of technology, and where to draw the line to avoid 24/7 Syndrome; ethical client management; the importance of emotional balance; and embracing law as a high calling generally.

Hon. Carl Horn, III is the author of LawyerLife: Finding a Life and a Higher Calling in the Practice of Law (ABA Publishing 2003), and has made frequent presentations on the topics to be addressed at CLE Seminars and Bar Conventions around the country.  He is currently working on a second edition of LawyerLife, which ABA Publishing plans to release in 2013.
