Recently enacted federal legislation purports to cure a pain felt by all parties who resolve a worker's compensation or liability insurance claim: getting a final number from Medicare.  While this most recent change to the Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) Act is certain to affect anyone who is resolving a claim involving a current Medicare beneficiary, how does this fit into the MSP compliance puzzle?

This program will provide a broad overview of the SMART Act as well as contemplate how today's attorney could use it to their advantage into order to expedite the claim resolution process.  Attendees will leave this program with the practical tips needed to formalized his/her approach to Medicare compliance, thus ensuring compliance with the MSP Act on the conditional payment reimbursement issue.
